Equipment Spotlight:

For this month’s featured equipment, we look at two high-speed feed lines recently purchased from a leading press manufacturer. These CWP 18” x 0.200” x 25,000 lb., turnkey press feed lines each feature a coil loading car, double reel, hydraulic cropping shear, power driven stock straightener, threading table, heavy duty servo feed with automated travel for die changes and mechanical scrap shear synched to the press to achieve 180 SPM. These feed lines, integrated with the press, will be producing ammunition for one of the largest ammo manufacturers in the U.S. Please visit the link below to watch one of the feed lines in action.

Factory Talk:

The COVID-19 virus has had an impact on global manufacturing, but Formtek-Maine has remained operational throughout this pandemic.  As an essential business as designated by the State of Maine, we continue to maintain the health and safety of our employees while also ensuring our unrelenting ability to serve our customers.

To persist in this effort, we have instituted appropriate protocols based on CDC recommendations.  Our facility has established procedures which include the frequent cleaning of all work areas, utilizing questionnaires and temperature checks of personnel, guests, and vendors, limiting the factory access of outside guests and vendors, and requiring the appropriate use of masks.  All these efforts have helped us maintain our zero-positive COVID-19 test experience.  We will persevere in these activities to ensure that our five decades of serving our customers remains healthy and unbroken throughout this historic event.
